WELCOME TO THE CLAY ARTS GUILD
of ANCHORAGE, ALASKA!

Our Goals
The Anchorage Clay Arts Guild invites all clay enthusiasts to build your next chapter here in the Anchorage area. We are a 501c3 and our mission is to:
-
Encourage the development of artistic skills within our membership
-
Encourage and foster community awareness of clay art
-
Provide opportunities for the membership to exhibit and sell their work
We anticipate at least four fantastic events this year! Our annual spring and fall sales, which serves as a place for our members to exhibit and sell their work and also as our main guild fundraisers which will include silent auctions. The third event being a guild sponsored workshop in which we identify and fly up a talented clay artist from the lower 48 to offer insight and inspiration to clay artists in the Anchorage area. And, the fourth event being a biannual Art Show held at the Girdwood Center for the Visual Arts in October!

Member meetings are once a month and give us a chance to catch up, share our successes, and stay up to date on up coming events and activities.

Our
Story

Formed in 1997 by a small group of artists, the Anchorage Clay Arts Guild has endured and thrived for more than 20 years. In the late 1990s, a core group of motivated, creative, and talented people set about building a ceramics community, literally from the ground up. Many members have remained active for ten years or longer and continue to be proud supporters of the group.
The caring spirits of many people who began and nourished the guild for over two decades have left an impression. To this day, the Guild continues to bring clay into the public view as a medium of artistic expression.

Potters of ALL Levels

The Anchorage Clay Arts Guild has many experienced clay artists that hold positions in the organization, but we also welcome complete beginners, novice potters, and pottery artists with moderate experience. We believe that cultivating a welcoming environment that is instructional, supportive, and inclusive is the best way to operate.
If you are interested in pottery, feel free to reach out to our group and become a member. You’ll be glad you did—and we’ll be glad to have you! Contact us to learn more about joining
